Bowies
The Bowie knife is a pattern of large fixed-bladed knife created by James Black in the early 19th century for Jim Bowie, who had become famous for his use of a large knife at a duel known as the Sandbar Fight on the Mississippi river in 1827.
After Jim Bowies death at the battle of the Alamo 1836 the knife that has become synonymous with his name has past into American folk lore and has come to incorporate lots of recognisable design features. Although in common usage the term usually refers to any large bladed sheath knife with a crossguard and a clip point.
The Bowies that I have made and you can see here are custom designs made specifically for each customer with the design features they wanted in their commissions. Being able to work closely with each customer allows me to create their knife as accurately as possible to the image they have in their mind.
Every knife and sheath that I make is a bespoke piece, made to your specifications with the materials you desire. Please take your time browsing my website and I hope you enjoy what you see.
